This was a king who promised to tend to the good will of the public and to make sure that the public is satisfied, but now he has lost that once great faith which the people of France had for the king. The insurrection of August 10th, 1792 saw 20,000 Frenchmen attack the Tuileries Palace. The 900 Swiss Guards came in to defend the king but their efforts were fruitless because of them being outnumbered here. After a bloody battle King Louis XVI and the royal family were captured and imprisoned. They were then subjected to harassment and other forms of humiliation before the trial decided to guillotine the King and the Queen. This radicalization rose up quickly when the King fled Paris in order to get help from Austria. This would allow the King of France to regain his hold on the Country which he has lost due to the Revolutionists who wanted more rights by severely limiting the powers of the monarchy. The Paris sections say that the fatherland has never been in such peril and that the French as citizens must attack the source of these ills in order to protect the nation from harm. Many internal enemies of France remained such as the Royalists, Priests, and the Nobles who are against the Revolution. They also say that they want to accuse the King without bitterness and instead will do this logically. The Paris sections then start to bring up the violations that the king has committed such as his projects against Paris. His liking for nobles and priests, his dislike for the body of the people, the National Constituent Assembly whom the King himself forced to meet at a tennis court. These violations left a bad taste in the mouth of the French people who stated that they can forgive but not forget these violations and to ignore these acts is to soil the pages of history. And what is worse is that the King is plotting against Revolutionary France by forming an alliance with the External Enemies of France who would destroy the Revolution and would try to avenge
