The Provisional Government led to the rise of lenin’s power due to bad economic decisions they created, the kornilov affair helped arm the Bolsheviks with weapons to raid the winter palace and overthrow the Provisional Government, and the effects of World War One caused lots of economic instability and made the everyday life hard for the peasants. Multiple trials and errors by the Provisional Government helped secure left wing Lenin's power. The Provisional Government was the interim government created after the fall of the russian autocracy. A major failure of the Provisional Government was that they allowed russia to remain in World War One when they knew the economic damages it was causing in the country. Due to the war there was inflation and food shortages which made the peasants really hungry and angry. Things got so bad that even soldiers were deserting the war due to lack of supplies and resources. Another failure of the provisional government was the refusal to give the peasant land. The Kornilov affair was when Kerensky appointed Kornilov as general and Kornilov felt that it was time to deal with the revolutionaries and create a strong government, so he ordered his troop to go to Petrograd and the people of Petrograd panicked and so did Kerensky because he thought Kornilov would remove him from power so he seeked help from the Bolshevik Red Army and gave them rifles. The upside was that the troops never made it to Petrograd but the Red Army kept the rifles.
