Marie Curie was a brilliant woman with amazing discoveries, she was focused on one thing her whole life since, and she was affected because she was a woman who had to move to get into a university she wanted.
Marie Curie had a lot of change in her life. Alot of this was based around the fact that she was a woman. This lead to a lot of change in her life because of her stereotypes and the country she originated from her whole life was changed because of this. Both of Marie's parents were teachers and they insisted on their four daughters as while as their one son all being educated. Marie graduated from high school at the age of 15 she wa the first person in her class to do it. So she applied for university Bronia with her sister older sister but they were not allowed because they were women. They both wanted a scientific education but they had to leave the country in order to get one. At the age of 17 two year later from her graduation Marie began school at sorbonne in paris. You may not of known this about marie but her real name was Maria but when she signed up for university in paris she signed her name as Marie because it seemed more french she was called that for the rest of her life. She then left her sister and cautioned her studies on her own. When her schooling was over she had her final exams she placed first in her class receiving her masters degree in physics in july 1893 leading her on a good start to the rest of her life. The next year after that she received her next degree in mathematics. She had also met her husband in her schooling in paris and together they were lead on to a good life.
Marie Curie was focused on her schooling her whole life. Her parents were teachers her sister was a scientist her husband and kids were scientist, her whole life was focused around either since or school. Marie became what you could say obsessed with since and chemistry her whole life she was focused around it she was the first woman to ever win a nobel prize her and her husband were given this prize together because of the amazing discoveries in science. Her skills were so amazing everyone loved the fact that she was the first woman to ever win a nobel prize. She was actually so amazing at this when he husband had passed away she won a second nobel prize on her own again she was crowd owing not because she was the first woman to get this prize but because the fact she couldn't make it to the prize altogether. Turns out she was in the middle of an experiment and she sent someone else to just go pick it up like it wasnt a big deal or something. That’s how dedicated she was to her chemistry. Im not saying this is a bad thing or anything but Marie she made some of the coolest discoveries in the world but she kinda wasted away because she never really left the topic of science and chemistry. Marie was the one who discovered that you could actually islote uranium therefore could stop explosions in the mits by isolating them. She was an amazing scientist and she even took over her husbands teaching position when he passed awayoff but it was still in the topic of since so her life wasn't really something that was an easily changeable topic. After her husband had died she didn't really leftave her lab or strayed too far because she was so sad not just because of but also because of the fact that people didn't really like marie all that much, until Aalbert Eeinstein actually sent her an encouraging letter to get her back on her feet again.
Marie Curie had many wonderful discoveries and inventions that she discovered and/ created.
Two of her main discoveries came from uranium because Marie spent a lot of her research into uranium she discovered these two things out of it: Radium, and Polonium. First I'll go over Radium. Radium, is purely from uranium it is radioactive but also good for many purposes from one tonne of uranium you cant get about 14 grams of radium. radium is now used in a cheap form of glow paint for watches or aircraft controls. it has also has been discovered that radium can be used to create a radio active gas that can cure cancer called radon. unfortunately the process is slow it can only turn one gram of radium into 0.0001 milliliters of radon every day. It is not allowed to be handled by anyone but professionals because of it’s highly radioactive properties considering radium is about 1 million times more active than uranium. The next main thing that Marie discovered was Polonium, Polonium like radium is radioactive and comes from uranium you need massive amounts of uranium to be able to actually use small amounts of polonium for experiments. In order to create it you needed one tonne of uranium in order to make 0.0001 grams of polonium. it is also a very high heat energy source 1 gram of polonium can create up to 140 watts of heat energy and it is considered one of the most lightweight heat sources on the planet cost of about $3,200 per microcurie that’s less than one rain drop of mass with a size and weight of atomic 209. it is also highly poisonous in gas form for humans to breathe. The next thing that Marie created was an xray it is because of her it is a possible thing that we have today. Since nobody knew how to use one at the time Marie herself would run into the battlefields with her contraption hook it up to people and show the doctors so they could be helped. Unfortunately in 1934 due to overexposure of radium Marie had passed
away.
In the end, Marie Curie and her husband where both wonderful people who had a big impact on the way we live today. Marie was the champion of dobbel nobel prizes and had some amazing discoveries in Radium and Polonium. She may of been in her lab throughout most of her life but can you blame her I mean she had to move from Ppoland to Ffrance at the age of 16. AltogetherAll together Marie was someone who was very helpful in the over all look at her life.
