How Did Martin Luther King A Pacifist?
Martin Luther King was an great leader. He was a pacifist, he didn’t believe in war. Martin Luther King believed in peace, happiness, and equality. Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. Both of these great leaders believed in equality for the African Americans. (5) Abraham Lincoln’s early life was plain and simple. Abraham was born in the backwoods cabin, three miles South of Hodgenville, Kentucky. In his toddler life he was taken to a farm in the neighboring valley of Knob Creek. His earliest memories were of his home and a flood his family had that washed away the cone and plants that he father had worked hard on. Abraham’s dad. Thomas moved his family to South West India. (6) In the future Lincoln was becoming successful. He rose to the top of his hard work, he showed kindness and compassion for everyone. Martin Luther King was a pacifist. Abraham Lincoln was not a pacifist, he hug in war to defend for his country. King believed in peace, and equality. Lincoln didn’t think that others should get the United States freedom, he believed in winning. (4) There power wasn’t an equality. Abraham was the president of the United States. (4) Martian was a African American leader, he was elected president of the NAACP. (5) Both of these leaders had the power. Abraham had much more power because he was the president, and the president have much more freedom to do what they want. Martian was a leader and a leader just leads the group and tells everyone what is going to happen and what they want to accomplish. Abraham Lincoln had died on April 15, 1865, he was assassinated.     To what extent was Martian Luther King the most significant civil rights leader in the period between 1865-1992? It can be said that between this time of 1865-1992 MLK was a very significant civil rights leader, and in fact was the most important to the civil rights movement in this time. He was seen as a great motivator and organiser, and brought together all parts of the black community, from the less educated blacks like DeBois and his following to many more. Within the year King formed the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957, which reacted to events and set up peaceful protests. Soon King was bringing help all around America for blacks trying to gain there civil rights this is seen through his support if Ella Baker and the NAACP when they started there sit in progress which was very successful, to help the freedom rides of 1961 where he gave his support in turn showing us how MLK helped promote black civil rights at the time.
