Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Reverend Martin Luther King (wikipedia.com). At birth Martin Luther King’ legal name was Michael King. His father had changed his and Martin Luther King’s name when they attended a trip to Germany in 1934. The main one was “ I have a dream.” His speech states that all black men and white men will be together as loving brother and sisters. Affirming that all white men and black men will sing together “Free At Last ! Martin also had a lot of white followers. Not all whites were as cruel as the other whites. Martin Luther King’s speech inspired lots of people then and now.
Martin Luther King didn’t stop there. He traveled to India to meet Mahatma Gandhi who inspired him with his success of non-violence activism. With a little help from Harris Wofford, he was able to fund his journey in April 1959. While he was there Mahatma Gandhi expanded Martin Luther King’s understanding in non-violence.
