He felt as though he now needed to bring the issues and what he believes should be changed to the white house. Which is what is now known as the March to Washington. King had children. He had wanted to help shape the world in order for his children to grow up in a safe place. He had delivered his famous “I have a dream” speech that day in from of so many. And his words had touched the hearts of blacks and whites alike. “The march, he said that day in Washington, was not an end; it was but a beginning. We live in a world King helped create. We do not yet live in the world he helped all of us dream of.” (Meacham J, Rhodann M. One Man.) Years to come after King’s death, things had still been going how he had wanted them. The march seemed to have changed the way people thought about the others around them and how they feel.. “Fifty years on, no matter where one stands on the political spectrum, it's all too easy to be glib about the meaning of the March on Washington and the movement's victories: the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act.” (Meacham J, Rhodann M. One Man). His goal of the march was to get so many more involved, and to have them understand why he wants us to work together to overcome our differences. He had the goal of having us all love one
