King showed was collaborativeness. The reason the protests were so successful was because Dr. King had everyone collaborating with one another to get the problem solved. The pigs, who were in charge, would not collaborate or help with any of the work on the farm, but would assign work to all the other animals “under the superintendence of the pigs” (Orwell 38). The pigs were not supportive, collaborative, or helpful when it came to doing work on the farm. This put more work and stress on the other animals. Dr. King, on the other hand, was very helpful and collaborated with his people in the fight for equality. Dr. King was also “travelling constantly speaking for “justice” throughout the country.” (“Martin”). Martin Luther King Jr. had a big impact in the movement because he collaborated with everyone on issues. When everyone came together the problem at hand got solved faster. Being collaborative with one another was very beneficial and had a positive impact in the…

The clergymen called King an extremist for standing up for what was right and wanting to march. King hoped that the march would turn negative energy into a positive one, to support his thoughts king would often use example from other leaders who decided to step up and make a change. King often relied on the example set by Socrates, Paul and Jesus so that the clergymen could see that oppression is still going on. King goes on to state that “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressors; it must be deemed by the oppressed”, and that’s exactly what was happening. They were demanding what was morally right. King brought to the light that being poor does not only relate to those who have less, financially but emotionally also. Believe it or not Martin Luther King almost didn’t give the “ I Have a Dream” speech. Mahalia Jackson encouraged King to go ahead and tell the people watching about the speech. King decided to go for it and improvised the rest of the speech. The speech gave people a realization on how different black people were treated compared to the whites. He had a dream that one day everyone would be able walk and communicate without being discriminated against. He wanted to point out that your skin color shouldn’t make you any different than anyone else. Everyone should be able to walk the same streets, interact with whom they like. King teaches one that all of this starts with the children. If you teach a kid from a young age to be a certain way then that’s what he’ll turn out to be but if you tell them they can have the freedom to interact with any kid they like to that’s a change. In the speech he said that he’ll like for the children of a slave and the children of a slave owner to be able to grow up together, in the same environment and not feel any different.…

King led many protests, but I think the one that made the biggest impact was the Civil Rights March in Washington, D.C. “This march is known as the largest demonstration ever seen in the nation’s capitol.” (Shmuel Ross) Nobody was sure exactly how many showed up, but it was around 250,000 people. This march was held on August 28, 1963. This was also the place where Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech. This was Dr. King’s most well known speech in America. In this Speech he starts off by saying that even after 100 years of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, African-Americans still do not have equal rights and are still not free. He also states that in the Declaration of Independence it says that all men, African-American and white, were created equal. He later says that he has a dream that one day African-American and whites will have equal rights, and “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their…

This man was Martin Luther King Jr. Also known as Dr. King. He had a dream, that done day people would have respect and peace for one another. This wasn’t “a succession of images, thoughts, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep.”(Dictionary.com) This was a dream with passion. During his time people were dealing with racial arguments and mistreatments. There were boycotts and all kinds of things. Dr. King had enough of this and made a stand for his freedom and rights.” We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote.” (King, Dream speech) Is that inspirational or what? Martin Luther King Jr. fiercely waged for the rights of African Americans through disobedience acts. Several of the rallies King conducted were unauthorized; the civil rights leader gave speeches in a few of the key centers of advocates against equality for African Americans. King’s disobedience occurred for the welfare of the people he loved and cared for. Obtaining the rights meant utilizing different methods that required King to disobey laws he thought were inadequate. The dreams that King so dearly wished for, were finally accomplished, which were the equal and inalienable rights for African Americans who had been discriminated and abused because of their skin color. With the help of his supporters, the effect of the speeches delivered by him, and his persistence of disobedience, King took victory. His organization did three things, negotiate, demonstrate, resists. In order to see any change they have to raise the white man's consciousness. You may ask “How are they going to achieve this?”, well in order to do so king said “we must be on the front page of every morning newspaper, and on the Tv news every night.” He also said that the government spends thousands of dollars trying to protect people outside of the country, but are incapable of protecting a race on their own U.S. soil. After one of the marches he was in jail and thought to himself, “they are going to ruin me so they can ruin this movement.” I feel that it's awful the mindset of everyone back then, they were trying to destroy a good man who was in fact doing nothing but good in the name of the lord, without the use of…
