This was made by none other than Edison and Morgan. Another well visited exhibit was Tesla`s Machinery Hall that stored his “animals.” Other exhibits were small shops or had few things to interact with. In most of the exhibits there were new inventions of food, games, or fun. As one of the first inventions to be showcased, when you walked into the fair you could see a striking display of fireworks being shot off. If you wandered around the fair you could see booths selling the foods we love today like Cracker Jack, Juicy Fruit gum, Quaker Oats, Cream of Wheat, Cotton Candy, and shredded wheat. Hamburgers were also first introduced at the fair along with Hershey`s first chocolate candy bar. Foxtrot games invented the first board games to present to the fair also. Then a bigger invention, the first “moving walkway” invented by Scott Joplin was shown. Six weeks into the fair the Ferris wheel was introduced. Then wireless telegraphy was born! Wireless telegraphy is sometimes called Morse code even though they were invented in different eras they were used together. The telegraph is what people used to communicate; wireless telegraphy is how the messages were able to be sent. They are not the same thing. Tesla did have a patent for wireless telegraphy but many people used to and some still do believe that another man had the credit instead. His name was Guglielmo Marconi and he did not have patent proof for his version. Wireless telegraphy, it does have a purpose. That purpose is how messages are able to be sent. We do not use this today however the idea of communicating via texting, calling, email, or etc. was based on wireless telegraphy. At the fair Tesla created an early version of the telephone line. Then later on it was developed more and patented by a different person.
