In Rome, officials handed out citizenship more often than Athens. In Doc A It says Rome was more generous in citizenship than Athens because Rome had a bigger empire than Athens. I think Rome gave citizenship more often is because they had a bigger empire.…
Roman and Greece empires governments were similar in ways but differed in others. While both Romans and Greeks started as mere city states they went off in different directions with there civilizations politically. They also both had democracies but in different forms. They each had there own way of government and had different military styles, largely because of their location, which is also why Rome was more centralized and Greece was more dispersed. However, geography did not stop both Rome and Greece from being patriarchal, and thriving.…

The ancient Romans had a better system in regards to government and citizenship than the Athenians. Unlike the Athenians, the Romans allowed people living in conquered lands to become citizens with limited rights. Native-born Roman women and children were considered citizens while in Athens, only free, native-born adult males are citizens. The Romans also had a better-organized government system.…
The Roman Republic was more generous in granting citizenship than Athens. They allowed free, native-born adult males, as long as their parents were married in certain areas of the Roman Empire. They allowed free, native-born adult females, but with limited rights. Both female and male children were considered citizens as long as their parents were citizens. Also sons of freed slaves could access citizenship. The only ones that were granted citizenship in Athens were free, native-born adult males. Rome's system was more equal, but in the end could cause problems with conflicts between everyone, trying to get what they want.…
Athens was a democracy city-state that elected archons annually (124). Whereas Sparta was ruled by two kings that ruled for life or were forced out of office, and were advised by a Council of Elders (123). Sparta was a war centered society, but Athens focused more on academics and philosophy. Spartan values were centered around being brave, self-disciplined, and honoring and fighting for Sparta, even if it meant death. Trade and agriculture were very important to the Athenian economy (137). Both government styles had elections and voting involved, but it was limited to some based on gender and…

Like Mesopotamia, Athens might be well known for their system of law and order. Athens saw the beginning of democracy and government like we know it today. In Athens, government now included citizens, not just representatives like in previous systems. For one of the first times in history, regular citizens could play key roles in how their community and government was…
Did you know that Spartans were so harsh and strict, they banished citizens that were overweight! Spartans were hostile and stern, which made them very powerful. They were solitary people that were simple but strong. Also, they were very protective, and fearful of other city-states trying to weaken the government through new ideas. On the other hand, Athenians were cultured and artistic people. They had creative minds, and loved to socialize with other city-states to spread new ideas. Athenians and Spartans had many diversities and differences, thus causing the Peloponnesian War that had tragic effects which impacted Greece for many years.…
Becoming a citizen of Athens was much harder than Rome. A lot of Rome’s success came from their acceptance of other people coming in into their empire and contributing in any way possible to the great Roman Empire. Athens, on the other hand, didn't really allow other people to become citizens and contribute to their society. On Document A it states that only free, native-born adult males were able to be citizens of Athens. In Rome free, native-born adult males, free, native-born adult females, free, native-born male children, female children and sons of freed slaves could have been citizens.…
Greece and Rome were alike and different when it came to government. The government in Greece was very diverse because every city was its own state. There was monarchy, oligarchy, and democracy. Democracy was developed in Athens, and at some point it started spreading to many other cities. Including non-Greek cities like Rome. One of the main ways they were similar was in their form of government. Both Greece and Rome had an assembly, where members were elected by the people. Rome was ruled by two consuls, who ruled for a year or were forced out of office. Greece was ruled by archons, who were elected annually.…

The Roman society allowed people to live their own lives to their preference without the worry of breaking the law or being thrown out of society. At the same time, they also consisted of an organized Roman Senate that was already inherited making their decisions consistent, but at the same time the citizens were allowed to express opinions through a voting system. Social standings allowed citizens to build up from poverty and become wealthy, rather than not having the freedom of being as powerful as you can. Overall, the Roman system is better than the Athenian system when it comes to citizenship, republican system, and social standings because Roman citizens were provided with more freedom and had fewer…

There are many reasons that time management is important. For example, if your unit was getting ready for deployment, you would need to be at the right place at the right the time, to receive any information you or your fellow soldiers may need to know before you leave. If you weren’t there when you were told to be then you would fall court martial under article 87 in the UCMJ, which is missing movement. Should you miss movement, you could face the possibility of being court martialed for being late or not showing up at all. People have also gone to prison for missing movement. When this happens your entire military career is essentially over. This is only one example, as I go further into this essay I will explain more. The importance of time management even applies to the garrison part of your army career. Your whole army career is all about time management. As recruits in basic training we were taught that you need to be ten minutes prior to the formation. We were taught that anything less than ten or fifteen minutes prior to formation, you were late.…
