Salvador Dalí Bibliography Salvador Dalí is known world wide for his astonishing art. Dalí wasn't just a painter he was also a sculptor, graphic artist, and a designer. It took him a long time to become the skillful artist he was. In this bibliography you will find out practically everything that happened to Salvador Dalí that led up to his success in art. Dalí was instantly influenced by the Americans, as they came crawling to Dalí with inspiration, art, and knowledge. After the Surrealist movement ending years before Dalí's art sort of died off in America. With Dalí and Gala having moved to the United States for eight years, Dalí's art took off again. Dalí became famous through out America. So much so that people began not focusing on Dalí's creations, but instead; Dalí himself. Dalí became known as the “Hispanic Who could Paint”. With Dalí's appealing personality and quirky appearance with obnoxious mustache, people liked if not loved Dalí. So much that people were willing to pay money for his art works, lots of money. As one of his paintings “Nude on the Plaine of Rosas” being sold for a staggering 4.4 million dollars. He became so famous that newspapers all around the world were asking him to write and article for them. During this time period Dalí created more and more pieces of art. In June 1983, Dalí's love of his life and model for many of his paintings, died. Without Gala being there to support, model, and travel with Dalí, he officially stopped all of his art work, as he entered the darkest period of his life. After Gala’s death Dalí himself died on 22 of January 1989. All in all Dalí's success as an artist did not come easy. Due to dropping out of schools to the deaths of his loved ones, Dalí faced many challenges his journey to be the successful artist he had become. Yes, Dalí had to do the physical work, but he couldn't have done it with out the ones he cared
