Shakespeare has written extraordinary plays and tragedies that are still being read, acted out, and winning awards today. Some of these plays include Macbeth, Hamlet, The Taming of a Shrew, just to name a few.
Shakespeare has influenced the nation with his sensational language, musical talents, and his over the top astonishing plays to not go with the normal standards but influences the the nation to step out of the box and reach for the stars.
William Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford upon Avon, England; then in the late 1580’s Shakespeare moved to London where he meet his wife Anne Hathaway. Shakespeare spoke early modern english which is archaic to the modern era. Shakespeare started attending school at the age of around seven years old. Although historian do not have documentation confirming whether shakespeare went to school his father ,John Shakespeare, was a high end famer so it assumed by historian William Shakespeare received an education. As for example “break the ice” that was used in Shakespeare play the Taming of the Shrew which was written in 1593 and still being used in the 21st century. “ Breaking the ice” in this era it means to end or avoid an awkward situation by starting a conversation with someone about something. When Shakespeare wrote this the characters in the play wanted everyone to comfortable with each other so there's no tension or uneasiness. Shakespeare specifically wrote in the play to try to win the older people and make the younger more accessible to Lucentio. Even Though this phrase was said over four hundred years ago it still has been relevant in today's society such as hit films The Day after Tomorrow and songs made to incorporate this phrase( Stevens 104). Superstar Britney Spears made an entire song about the meaning and also made it the title of the record. Plus in many schools events or gathers “ice breakers” are games that are get to know each other. Sometimes the games are embarrassing to open everyone up and feel comfortable around each other. This phrase has went through decades and still is being said. The Taming of the Shrew incorporates several saying that's still used present day. “Kill with kindness.” This phrase simply means to get what you want by being very kind to another person. Shakespeare doesn't express it in the same way as it’s done today. Originally it meant overwhelm or harm someone with mistaken or excessive benevolence pear. Shakespeare writes it in the play to cure the wife to not have a wild and willful nature. Over time this phrase has become more of a literal term. Not only phrases did Shakespeare come up with but words. Words that are the current everyday language wasn’t known until after Shakespeare invented it. He created over 1700 words of the English vocabulary. He formed the words by changing nouns into verbs and changing verbs into adjectives. Even connecting words never been used together by adding prefixes and suffixes and devising words wholly original. Some of the the most used include: lower, gossip, eyeball, and worthless. Over time many new words and phrases the public that thinks is new is old English that hasn't been used recently is now coming into the light.

Back then it was customary in Tudor and and Stuart drama to have at least one song in every play. But of course defined this orthodoxy and used songs late tragedies. These songs were startling and moving especially in Othello, King Lear, and Hamlet. His plays would also include vocal or instrumental references read in spoken text by the actors on stage. Shakespeare grew up during the renaissance era. This made his music a major part for invoking emotional in the audicane. Shakespeare would use certain instruments or sounds to depict a certain feeling such as sadness or happiness.
