On page 218 the author explains, “He turned showed his side. Tear just under the right shoulder filling the armpit.” He was then wounded again and slowly began to grow weak. The author states on page 230, “He saw Kilrain from a distance. He was sitting on a rock, head back against a tree, arm black with streaked blood.” He eventually died from his wounds on the morning of July 3, 1863 after helping defend Little Round Top. The wound would have been treated by having a surgeon open up the wound and take out the bullet. The wound would be covered with cloth, plastic, or tissue.
The Civil War was a very bloody war and The Battle of Gettysburg was a deadly battle. Many people died or were wounded. Many of them connected in the same way which was how their wounds were treated. If the bone was shattered an amputation would be necessary but if not the wound would just be opened up to take out the bullet. It lasted from July 28, 1914 until November 11, 1918. The main trigger for the war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria along with more things. For example, the Triple Entente also triggered the war. The countries in the Triple Entente were Great Britain, Russia, and France. This resulted in Russia going to war with Austria. Another one of the causes was nationalism. Nationalism basically showed the loyalty that someone had for its country and some people took it very seriously which eventually led to more wars. In addition militarism was a cause of war because countries tried to have a strong military, but for example Germany tried doing that and England noticed it so it were as if they were competing with one another. One of the main reasons for World War I were alliances. Many countries were basically competing with one another, causing there to be tension and eventually lead to many wars. During those 4 years, millions of people died either due to war or diseases going around. For example, one of the diseases that was going around was diabetes. Diabetes occurs when your body does not produce the insulin it needs or at least does not produce it correctly. This means that diabetic people cannot take in fats or sweets or at least shouldn’t to prevent the diabetes to get too severe.
