Changing Music One Step at a Time. The Beatles were an “out of nowhere” happening that many still don’t understand to this day. They have changed music in more ways than one, and people still enjoy listening to their music even today, when music has gone through so much auto tune and processing. The music they created had so many different messages, and people enjoyed listening to them everyday, and even all day sometimes. Some people call The Beatles an overnight sensation, while others had apparently seen them coming. This band was no one hit wonder, in which they had many hits they became famous for. John soon found out Paul played guitar, very well. John soon asked Paul to join his band, The Quarrymen. George Harrison then joined them in February of 1958. Starting 1959, the started playing several gigs at pubs around town. Finally after basically being a nameless band, John Lennon dreamed up the name “The Beatles,” a mix of beat and beetles. In 1960, The Beatles toured Germany, where Ringo Starr joined them, who previously played with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. In only two and a half years, The Beatles performed 262 shows at the Cavern in Liverpool. Soon after performing all the shows, they realized they needed to find a manager to keep all of their business in line. They hired Brian Epstein in November of 1961 to be their band manager. A four year contract was signed by the members of The Beatles, and the deal was set in stone for Brian Epstein to make The Beatles something amazing. He started to get the name out there, and he started to pull strings he’d never imagine pulling until he met this group of boys. He changed their haircuts, their outfits, and even tried to change their attitudes but didn’t get very far with it. He made them wear suit and ties, classic shoes, and made them look classy all together. The image of basically looking like homeless people wasn’t cutting it for their band manager. They were also advised to update their manager on what they were always up to, they got forced to stop drinking in public, fix their manners on stage, and almost couldn’t even eat in public. Brian worked hard on keeping their images well maintained and mannered. Most if not all of their communication and events that happened were managed by Brian. He kept them in line with everything they did. People adored and some even worshipped them for this reason, out of the many they could be adored for. Girls melted at the fact that all of the group swooned them, in ways other boy bands might not have been able to. Their music went from England to America in what seemed like two seconds, and people soon became addicted to their music. They hadn’t realized what their music was starting to become until it went to America and became one of the biggest music events in history of music events.
