The purpose of this thesis is to analyse how the enduring British Empire declined and collapsed throughout the twentieth century. The paper will enumerate the incontestable evidences and reasons that contributed and eventually resulted the disintegration. Furthermore, it will provide examples for the process of decolonisation through two states that possessed different status within the Empire.
