The north also fighted to preserve the Union and to end slavery. The south also fought for the preserve the Union and also to not end slavery and keep slavery in the south so they don't have to do all the work. Those were not all the reason for the south and north fought they also wanted states rights and westward expansion. After the fight there were many people died for the civil there was about 600,000 that died out of 2.4 million soldier on that battle field. It was about ending slavery, states right,and preserve the Union but only one would win the war and it would be either the south or the north. After the civil war the north had won and from them they ended slavery. After the civil war has ended it was known as free labor instead of slave labor with that now slaves can buy land rent land for there family.
