In politics, they influenced the way we use congress and a senate for an organized democracy. The Greek Civilizations had group meetings with all the citizens in the city to create and pass laws. They also choose officials to be in charge of public affairs. The congress and the senate are people involved in the government. The Senators, get together to pass laws and discuss problems that we are having in this country. The Roman civilizations made two different government branches, legislative and executive. The legislative branch was a group of men, called the senate. The executive branch were in charge of all the incidents happening. In today society we still use these branches the only difference is that we added an extra one called judicial branch. Agriculture was something huge but buying and trading things across the seas was a method to get items they could not produce. Greeks traded many things such as papyrus, spices, fabrics, metals, wine, olive oil, dishes and lamps. Just like today many of our foods and clothes come from many other places in the world. Romans in the other hand did not trade that much. Roman farmers eventually grew more food then necessary so they would sell them to the local markets. Romans had to pay taxes on wealth, and merchants had to pay custom taxes. Just like what we do today, we too have to pay for taxes to live in the United
