Then, in 1750, the industrial revolution began as people started to find fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gasses. The industrial revolution started on a small Island in Great Britain in the early 18th century. By then everyone was already using fossil fuels in Great Britain. In 1776, James Watt, a Scottish instrument maker, made an engine that would use coal to produce steam. By 1900, the engines burned 10 times more efficiently than the original inventions. The industrial revolution has changed the world with its machines.
