How Did The Lightbulb Affect Society

Thomas Edison’s invention of the lightbulb was so significant that it is still effecting society to today. Thomas Edison’s lightbulb had to consist of three things, the first being a durable incandescent material, the second thing the lightbulb needed was to eliminate the oxygenation from the bulb, and the last thing the lightbulb needed was a filament material of high resistance. The first lightbulb was going to be made out of platinum, however, platinum was very expensive to distribute to homes across the globe. Edison then turned to a carbon-based, high resistant, filament, which would be one of the required steps for creating a lightbulb.
