The Manhattan Project was a secret project of the making of the atomic bombs used during WWII.
A multitude of ethnical groups from around the world helped make the bomb.
The nuclear bomb was created when scientists took an atom of uranium-238 and turned it into plutonium-239, a controlled nuclear power in a chain reaction.
On July 16, 1945, at 5:30am in the morning the first successful atomic bomb testing was done in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
This was important because the scientists that made the bombs discovered how to harness nuclear power.
