On October 31st 1517, Wittenham on the Church door, Monk Priest Martin Luther, nailed to the door 95 theses naming where the Catholics and the church were in error or needed to change. When they saw these theses many people were glad to see them. The 95 these were copied without the permission of Luther and eventually spread across Germany in a few weeks. Luther sent a copy of his issues to Archbishop Albert. When he got this he complained to the pope that he was challenging the power of the Roman Church. Not only did Albert go against Luther but also a man named John Tetzel who sold indulgences to the people. These people were heavily affected by Luther as they criticized the teachings of them and the church. This caused the reduction of the Roman church because it criticized the church and made some of the people turn away and question the teachings of the church and what they do! This changed the power of the Roman church because less people listened to their teachings and bought indulgences off them to get time of Purgatory, a
