Constantinople is located today in Istanbul. Sultan Mehmed II who was known as the conqueror attacked Constantinople in 1453. The fall of Constantinople then made the Ottoman Empire seem invincible to anyone around.

Describe how the influence of the West changed with regards to economic, political, and cultural influence. Before the maritime expansion in Europe the Asians culture had been the dominate when it came to trading over land and sea. Europe also began to take an extreme interest and started playing a role in exploration and trading. There were four different reasons that the European kings were motivated in the maritime expansion. The European kings wanted to regain urban life, trading, and continue to build alliances between the merchants and rulers along with increasing the curiosity about what was going on in the world around them. They also desired to have dominance against the Islamic powers of the religious rule in the Mediterranean. Missionaries were a huge part of trading, African and Asian cultures always welcomed and supported the missionaries from Europe, thus the trading goods would help pay the missionaries. Change is good so as the attention had increased during the maritime expansion lots of changes accrued with the cultural, economic and political. As the changes were made and the trading became stronger the voyages become further and easier for the trades, thus expanding the trading opportunities across the board. During the expansion this began to build allies which is what made it successful in opening doors to new contacts and not as many enemies.

Early modern Europe experienced tremendous upheaval during the 15th through 18th centuries due to the Renaissance and Reformation. Discuss how these two movements were intertwined. In other word, how did the Renaissance influence the Reformation and vice versa, how did the Reformation influence the Renaissance. Be sure to use specific examples.
The Renaissance was known for the rebirth in the Greek and Roman Culture and the arts and intellectual activities. It was believed that the Renaissance was the rebirth of the dark ages and rediscovering in the superiority of ancient Greeks and Romans. In arts and science this time was the shift from the focus on religion to the celebration of the human body.
Humanism was one of the many focuses of the renaissance. Which focused on how the body works with an anti-religious view. Humanist believed that the way of the human was more important than the way of the religion. During the Renaissance peoples view church changed dramatically and began to challenge the leaders of the church. Martin Luther a man who lead the Protestant Reformation when he began to challenge the church and what the church leaders told people, Martin Luther believed and instilled in individuals that the only way to truly received salvation was through their faith in Jesus Christ. This caused the Catholic Church to lose its power. Many of the people wanted to keep the power and wealth local and not in the hands of the Pope.
