When President Wilson arrived in London on December of 1918 he had a proposal for a lasting peace, which he described as his “Fourteen Points.” Wilson used his position to make a series of demands on Germany, so that he could show the world he was making an effort to bring peace. Furthermore, they were later used for peace negotiations by the big three, in order to end WW1. The Paris Peace Conference opened in January 1919 and had 32 nations present. This conference was intended to set up a large number of commissions to deal with many aspects of the settlement, which included the Treaty of Versailles being controlled by the central powers. The main decisions were taken by the French prime minister, Clemenceau, the British prime minister Lloyd George, and the American president, Wilson.
