The First World War was a big event in world’s history; it killed over 17 million people and changed a lot of things in the world.
The causes of this War are still unsure, there are a lot of causes for it. One of them is the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, which is in part, what made the First World War occur.
At that time, Austria-Hungary was waiting for a reason to attack Serbia, but without a reason, Germany, which is an ally of Austria-Hungary, wouldn’t have follow them into attacking Serbia. Austria-Hungary was already waiting for revenge for a long time; they wanted their old land back, which the Serbian had taken from them a long time ago. The reason for this was because of the alliances, every country was allied to other country; of course the best was to have a lot of allies, in case a country attacked another country. This packed was a treaty that country were signing with each other, it stimulated that when a country was being attacked, that the country that had signed the treaty with the country being attacked had to come help.
Austria-Hungary had signed a treaty of ally with Germany at that time, which consisted of protecting Austria-Hungary whenever a country was attacking him. Austria-Hungary, which was seeking for revenge against Serbia, attacked them after the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, and because they had a valuable reason to attack, Germany joined into the War.
Serbia being the ally of Russia, which was know in War with Austria-Hungary and Germany, got help from the Russians. So after Serbia was attacked, Russia declared War on Austria-Hungary.
Russia had a lot of allies at that time, so the ally of Russia, which was Britain, France, and others, got involved with the War
