When someone thinks about World War ll, they probably think of all the negative impacts it had on other countries, homes, once beautiful land, and, unfortunately, people. It began in 1939, and after 6 devastating years, it ended in 1945 with over 15 million deaths. But, did you know that it had some positive impacts on the United States? In those 6 years, amazing things happened to the USA’s population, work rate, and all of our technology. Mandy Hale once said “ The bad thing that happens today could be paving the way for the good things coming tomorrow.” After the war, a new “age” came to pass, this was called the Baby Boom. Once the soldiers arrived in the US, they rejoined their lonesome wives and decided that it was a good time to start families, big families. On average, one single family had about 5-8 children. With all of the children being born, this impacted the US’s population extremely. In 1945 there was an average of 139.9 million people, then, in 2015, there was an average of 326.8 million. We were still fighting Japan, who would not give up. We had to stop this. At 8:16 a.m., August 16, 1945, we released something that changed the world. We released the Atomic Bomb. This opened up a new time called the “Technological Advancement Age” a.k.a the “Technology Age” . As a nation, we decided that we needed to be more safe in air, land and seas. A team of inventors and scientists developed something called the aircraft carrier for the seas, radar for the air, and telephones, radios, and tanks for land.
