WWI left many positive effects on America. The country experienced political and social views changes such as the changing role of women. The United States economy observed technological boom , industrial area increasingly grow and production was going up. However, the euphoria was not meant to last for too long. Due to the investors, stock brokers, as well as average people’s overconfidence in the 1930’s stock market, society overlooked the dark clouds that gathered on the horizon of the American economy. A government agency created the Federal Housing Registration, which was responsible of fixing the housing crisis. Also the responsibility expand in scope to regulated mortgages and housing conditions. The Home Owners Loan Corporation also played a large part in this housing crisis. Since many foreclosures happened, this agency paid loans to save homes from foreclosure. This particular action was needed to created necessary housing security for average American family, as well as creating protection blanket for lenders any financial institution responsible for secure mortgage loans. It is important to mention social group ( besides children ) which felt recession the hardest were senior citizens and the disabled. Because the age, physical or mental impairment prevented them from working, they been left with absolutely no way to support the basic needs. Senior citizens were not able to recover even during the New Deal, so the Social Security Act passed to combat poverty for the elderly and aid to the disabled (FDR S.S.A).
