Mr.Boone, Christopher’s father would have to be one of the greatest influences on Christopher. Christopher’s father has always been there for him and has been his number one supporter from the start, never giving up on him though his condition may lead him to get a bit out of hand. The fact that Christopher’s mother left him to move to London with a different man affects Christopher. Though she did try and keep in touch with him, he never did receive the letter, but it shows that she still does love him. The fact that his mother had an affair with Mr.Shears influenced Mr.Boone to lie about Christopher’s mothers death which has dramatically influenced Christopher throughout the book. Since Christopher did believe that his mother had died of a heart attack it was easier to cope with than thinking she left him for somebody else. This way he wouldn’t feel unwanted or unloved. Also Christopher’s mother had a short temper and wasn’t as good Mr.Boone when it came to Christopher’s condition. Her short temper lead to her saying things to Christopher and caused fighting between Mr.Boone and herself. Because of all the fighting she looked for comfort in Mr.Shears leading to the affair, the move to London and the lies Mr.Boone had to tell to baracade Christopher from the pain of his mother
