Paul’s family’s choices impact Paul by making him legally blind, Paul hating himself, and Paul not having a good relationship with his dad.

Paul’s brother, Erik Fisher, made the choice of helping his friend paint Paul’s eyes. “And I remembered Erik’s fingers prying my eyelids open while Vincent Castor sprayed white paint into them” (263-264). Erik and Vincent made this choice because they had spray painted a wall and thought Paul told on them while he was innocent. This impacted Paul’s life because after they went to the hospital the doctors told Mr. and Mrs. Fisher that their son, Paul, will lose his peripheral vision and that he will also become legally blind. This had made Paul’s life more difficult because there were times when he had trouble perceiving.

and Mrs. Fisher made the choice of lying to Paul by telling him that he had stared at a solar eclipse for too long. “We wanted to find a way to keep you from always hating your brother” (265). This choice had made it challenging for Paul to trust his parents. “So you figured it would be better if I just hated myself” (265). This had impacted Paul’s self-concept by making Paul hate himself because he thought that he was stupid to stare at a solar eclipse and ruin his eyes. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher should have told Paul the truth from the beginning so Paul would not have hated himself for about 13

These decisions in particular were made by the parent’s themselves. The parent's made multiple decisions that were one sided and had a major effect on Paul's personality and further decisions/actions. The parents choices to hide the secret how Paul got blind, to giving him open access to the computer, and moving to Tangerine played a major role in affecting Paul over time.…

Throughout the book Paul is always having to deal with his violent older brother and his friend Arthur Bauer and Paul never tells anyone what he is seeing his brother do. There is one external force that helps convince Paul to finally tell someone. Towards the end of the book Antoine Thomas said to Paul, “The truth shall set you free.” This quote is important to the book because this is when Paul is convinced to tell the truth about the real Erik Fisher. This is what I think is one of the most important quotes to the resolution of the…

The choice that Erik made of spray painting Paul's eyes was another way he made Paul feel down and making Paul think he is nothing. “Erik’s fingers prying my eyelids open while Vincent Castor sprayed white paint into them” (Bloor 263-264). This also showed later in life how Paul is known for a bad things while it also shows an example of Paul thinking he is a failure. He…

Throughout the book, Paul’s attitude towards Keller changes many times usually as a direct result of the way Keller treats him. For example, when Keller throws away one of Paul’s manuscripts, Paul fiercely hates him but when Keller surprisingly says that Paul should have won the music competition, Paul once again feels genuine affection for him. These changes in feelings by Paul show that he is a character who often lets his heart rule his head, and that his behaviour is very often dictated by his emotional condition.…

The aroma of fresh-cut grass and bark dust disperse down the streets surrounding the local park. Teenagers run on the large open field, playing football, soccer, and every sport in between. There is a playground nearby that has with the classic swings, slides, see-saws, and a jungle gym where children play. In the distance, in a house across the street, lives a sick boy who dreams of spending countless hours at the park. The boy, Paul Missal, wishes he could join the fun, but instead must find entertainment in his house because of an unknown sickness. One day, Paul’s mother decided to teach him how to draw. He first started with a fir tree. Missal's young face glowed with excitement, shouting, "Oh my gosh, I can draw this, this is incredible!" From that day on, he struggled to put the pencil down, only doing so when he discovered the paint brush. His artistic passion grew when he attended art school and became one of Oregon’s great…

Paul’s Case was not, by any means, my favorite short movie. However, most of the necessary literary elements were present. The plot begins with the exposition, which is Paul’s failure to pay attention and rebellious acts. Instead of being interested in his education, Paul is fascinated by art and theater as shown through his job at the theater. The rising action begins, as Paul’s father is angry because he wants Paul to be successful through education. Paul looses his job at the theater because of his father. He then get’s expelled from school. Paul steals $2,000 and leaves on the train to live extravagantly for a short amount of time. After his adventure Paul returns on the train and starts walking in the woods. From…

Each factor of life, since the moment of birth, shapes the way we are now and effects many people around us. These factors can vary from being born into poverty, being born with everything served on a silver platter, or being born with some sort of disorder. Everyone’s occurrences are never the same as anothers. In my case, I was born in Santa Ana California to a 17 year old mother and a lot 19 year old father who was somewhere in the world serving for the United States Marine Corps. I changed my parents lives drastically. I never really understood how much of an impact I've made on others until now.…

The Bible has always been a huge part of my life so it seemed appropriate to pick an article about the Bible. I chose Paul, Letters, c. 50 C.E. because I’ve always had a hard time understanding Paul and wanted to learn more about him and what he wrote about. However, when I looked a little deeper I found his assumptions, interests, and ideals were clearly seen.…

Examples of it could be if someone witnessed an abduction, had a premature baby or even death of a loved one. Out of the three influences nonnormative life events impacted me the most. One was the death of my grandfather. His death directed me in a better direction. He is the reason I work so hard to this day in every aspect. He inspired me to lose weight. I went from being obese to fit. His death almost gave me back my life. Looking back, if that never happened I have no idea what path I would be on. I think of that event as a “domino effect” after that, everything changed. New chapters begun and a lot of things were different. This is why it affected me so much. Another nonnormative life event was an unexpected career opportunity. This happened while I was at my old job. My boss asked me to be his nanny. It was out of the blue and I hesitantly said yes. I had no idea of what I was doing or what the job entailed. I learned within four months of the job that kids are my passion. I then applied for another job, Foss Swim School. I started teaching young children how to swim. Again I had no idea of what I was doing. I still nanny and work at Foss. If I never had become a nanny I would still probably be in school studying business. After six months into my nanny job I changed my major to Pre-DPT in hopes of becoming a pediatric physical therapist. Again, taking that job changed everything…

Choices and the control you have on them, help in improving one’s personal outlook. The beautiful thing about choices are that we can remake them, so that they can fit in with our lives, goals and the outcomes we expect from those choices. We also have the control, and no one else in making the right choices, by what we are doing, and the outlook of the people and places we choose to surround us.…

Many people wonder these days if people's lives revolve around the choices they make. This is absolutely true. Everyone in this world is responsible for who they are today. Their choices and ideas pave the road for their future. A quote from Confucius says this, "People's lives are the result of the choices they make-or fail to make. The path one takes in life is not arbitrary. Choices and their consequences determine the course of every person's life. All people, whatever their circumstances, make the choices on which their lives depend.…
