My original thesis was the idea that the culture and people that a person is raised around affects their community and influences their beliefs and worldviews. We all had very similar opinions and views on the subject “how do place and cultural collision influence conflict?”. We had to come up with one thesis statement all together and we narrowed it down to the fact that humans competitiveness and urges to feel superior is what causes almost every conflict. We went over the ideas that humans always wanted more land, didn’t like to be controlled, and didn’t like giving in. We decided that all of these ideas were related to people not wanting to feel inferior, and conflict was always caused by everyone wanting to be the best, have the most, or be in control. The natural competitiveness in humans is the problem behind almost every disagreement or conflict. Together we came to an agreement on a new thesis- Place and cultural collision is inevitable because of natural human competitiveness. In the end, I felt much more confident in this thesis than my original one and I felt that it better represented the original topic and
