President Obama fulfilled a promise that Democrats have perused for nearly a century. It is making affordable healthcare available for all Americans. In 2010, Democrats were able to pass health reform into law. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, about 16.4 million people gained healthcare coverage. The uninsured rate has been reduced by more than a third. Even though the Democratic Party has helped with healthcare, many Americans still struggle financially. Because of high health insurance deductibles, today Americans ages nineteen to sixty-four were considered underinsured.
