CHAPTER I

Introduction

These modern times and even decades ago, festivities had been one of the most common means of promoting different places, products, and cultures. They serve as the easiest doorway to let other people from other places in entering our local way of living. We can easily promote products, services and places that serve as assets to the place conducting those festivities.

Every province or city usually has number of festivals to increase tourism and economy of the place. Every year, our country conducts hundreds of those. Because they are already aware of the large opportunities, investments, tourists, and possible profits the festivities may bring to the country.

Laguna, a province where thousands of great tourist sites, products and services are found, has a very big potential. Economy wise, the province has a very wide resource of derive profits from. Festivities have been always a part of its biggest promotional strategies.

Two years ago, the biggest Laguna festival was born. It started at the first year of the service of Laguna’s governor, Gov. Jeorge “E.R’’ Ejercito Estregan. He was the one behind it all. “La Laguna Festival” became the most awaited festivity of the province for the whole year.

“La Laguna Festival” is a week-long celebration that highlights the biodiversity of the lake and the rich natural resources of Laguna. It showcases a variety of competitions such as the dragon boat race, brass band competition, flora and fauna farms, cook fest, trade fair and the choreographed sound and sight fireworks competition.
