war on terrorism. The first reason why I believe 9/11 has the most influence is this event started terrorism around the world.
This was one of the biggest attacks that have ever happened in the United States. Many people including me still wonder today if global terrorism is getter better or worse. A quote from Pamela Engel, writer for the Business Insider said, “Since September 11, 2001, "the global terror threat has compounded and cascaded," said the note. We're now facing "unprecedented terror concerns" that will likely persist for years to come” (Engel 1). The reporter states that terrorism is getting worse around the world because of 9/11 happening. This impacts me because my generation has to worry more and more about terrorism every day. 9/11 left an emotional scar on the people of my generation because of people seeing thousands of people getting killed in one single day. In fact, more than 56% of my generation is worried about terrorism. (see fig. …show more content…

Since 9/11, there have been over sixty terrorism plots around the world and thankfully countries have counterterrorism groups to help prevent terrorism. This helps relieves burden from the people. Though I don’t have to worry about terrorism every single day of my life, it haunts me when you see something on the news about a terrorism act in the United States or in any other country. The second why I believe 9/11 has the most influence is that this event increased security around the United States and the world. The United States has invested more money into the security of our government. The Homeland Security Budget increased 29.6 billion dollars since 2001 to 2011 and that number is still growing today (see fig. 2).
This means that the United States cares about the security of the people and the country.
I feel like they are doing a good job with the security in the United States. I believe that they are putting that money where it needs to be spent on. The United States needs to keep doing this so that they are giving us a sense of security. Also, the United States has toughened security in airports. Now all airports have to check the baggage of passengers, make guests take off their shoes, have travel size liquid. They also introduced air marshals and blast proof cockpit on every airplane to make sure nothing bad happens during a flight. This impacts me because now I have to go through scanners and machines to make sure I am able to go on a plane. I believe that this was one of the best solutions that they could of though of because it made people feel safer when they have to travel. These implications would make me and other people feel safe on an airplane
ride.
The final reason why I believe 9/11 has the most influence is this event made the United States go to war on terrorism. After 9/11 happened, George Bush made his Address to the Nation talking about what the United States plan to deal with terrorism is. In his speech, he talks about how the United States freedom came under attack on that day. He also said that United States is going to go to war to stop terrorism from happening. The United States went to war with the Islamic group al-Queda, Iraq, Saddam Hussein, and Afghanistan. The United States was bent on completely getting rid of terrorism out of the whole world. This impacts me because this shows that the United States doesn’t give up. They have never given up on it missions. The United States mission was to get rid of terrorism and the terrorist groups. It took time for the United States but they were able to capture the leader of the terrorist group al-Queda. It shows me that the United States never gives up on what it is trying to-do. This shows me that our nation will stand up to whenever another country “pushes” the United States around.
So in conclusion, 9/11 impacts me the most because this event started terrorism around the world, security in the United States has increased since the attack, and it made the United States go to war on terrorism. People now have to follow these precautions in order for people to feel safe and not worry about terrorism. The United States did everything that they could have done and they were able to overcome it. Though terrorism is still happening today, it shows that the United States can stand up to anything and help prevent a disaster like 9/11 from ever happening.
