While the research was going on through the autopsy he noticed that there were several abnormalities within the her brain this was due to some form of plaque. And also he discovered that there was even some loss of connections between the nerve cells in the brain. Even today doctors and researchers still do not fully understand how the disease progresses they have a hypothesis that the damage starts at least a decade before any eventual signs. Some of these particular symptoms start showing us loss of memory and a mild stage. Early on researchers discovered that Alzheimer’s can actually start in patients in their early 30s to 60s however this represents a very small percentage of the people who actually have the disease. Some researchers believe that there are additional genes that may influence of how the disease may develop later on in life in recent studies they’ve made hypothesis that heart disease strokes diabetes and even obesity may be some leading cause for this particular disease. There is no definite way to prove that an individual has Alzheimer’s without taking a sample of the brain and more often this is only done after the patient is deceased that …show more content…
Even with the advancements in today’s medical field caring for an individual with Alzheimer’s can also have large financial costs as well as high physical and emotional cost as well this is not always easy for the individuals or family members when they are no longer capable of caring for the individual safely. There are currently four types of medications that have been approved by the FDA these drugs are Donepezil,Rivastigmine,Namenda,Razadyne. Even today researchers are constantly asking for people to volunteer have the disease people of have no family history of this and even people who have multiple family members who have had the disease. They carry out a wide range of research as well as clinical trials and case studies on the root causes as well as diagnosis and
