Capital Punishment
Capital punishment would cost less and ensure effective crime deterrence if the process of execution was not prolonged.

Abstract
Capital punishment in the United States does not ensure deterrence or punishment and can cost up to 10 times more than life in prison because of the prolonged process of execution. If the United States can shorten the time a defendant spends on death row, then it will no longer cost more than life imprisonment without parole. This paper discusses life on death row, the cost of incarceration and the average length of time a convicted felon spends in death row, the definition of punishment along with how crime deterrence is created. The way to reduce the cost of capital

First of all, death penalty proves to be an effective ‘kill one to warn all’ approach I law enforcement. Crime rates in China have reportedly been fallen to a certain level since the implementation of death penalty. On May 21, a miserable event happened in Taiwan. We will never forget that day because a colleague student randomly killed four people and injured several people with long knives in the carriage of MRT. He claimed he just wanted to complete a great thing in his life. However, four lives had been taken away. Afterwards, this event has brought about a panic in Taiwan; most people consider that this criminal should be sentenced to death as soon as possible due to his cold-blooded behavior. Consequently, the issue of abolishing death penalty has been discussed recently. In my opinions, death penalty should not be abolished in that it cannot only implement justice but also curb crimes…

In Taiwan, whether to abolish or retain death penalty was a big controversial question in recent years. The people who consent to abolish death penalty argue that it is an international trend to abolish death penalty because criminals like kill another person should still be protected by the Constitution, but the people who oppose to abolish death penalty believe that Taiwan's judicial system is tolerant enough towards the suspects. Therefore, in consideration of social peace and how the victim’s families feel, the criminals deserve the death penalty and it should not be abolished easily. Five years ago, Taiwan’s Former Minister of Justice did not want to accept the laws to run the death penalty in the death row, and this thing caused big discussion between abolish or retain death penalty. The people in Taiwan think should not abolish death penalty for three reasons: to protect human rights, to abolish death penalty will cause an increase of crime, and to keep death penalty can reduce the social costs.…

Should Capital Punishment be prohibited by the law? The purpose of the execution of criminals is to condemn, deter crime and suppress political dissent. Most countries practice Capital Punishment for those who commit murder, drug trafficking, treason (act of a traitor), espionage (practice of spying) or are as part of military justice. Some countries impose Capital Punishment on sexual crimes. Specifically speaking, rape, adultery, sodomy or incest. Or in other cases, religious crimes like apostasy. China takes into account serious cases of corruption too. Offences during wartime such as cowardice, desertion, insubordination (disobeying of authority) or mutiny (group rebellion) may also warrant a death sentence.…

Dating back to the 16th century BC, the first historically recorded execution was conducted in Egypt. In those times, executions were conducted in numerous ways that ranged from sawing the accused, neck lacing (a common practise during the apartheid era in South Africa), burning and flaying (skinning the accused). Now, over 3510 years later the death penalty is still a common practice, according to Amnesty International,”95 countries (49%) still have the death penalty in their constitutions, in 2012 China executed the most people with an estimated figure of 1,718. They also go on to state that in 2012, Iran conducted at least 346 executions, the USA 111, Saudi Arabia 102 and Pakistan 36”.However the methods have been made “less cruel”, with executions being conducted through lethal injection, electrocution, lethal gas, firing squad and hanging. This essay aims to discuss the various pros and cons of the death penalty and shed some light on why this practise is inhumane and why it should be abolished. Although some people believe it is a deserved punishment for cruel crimes such as murder, rape, and terrorism only to mention a few, the death penalty should be abolished because it is immoral, results in irrevocable mistakes and the cost of executing a criminal is much higher than that of imprisoning them for life without parole or pardon.…
