When Frankenstein first created the Monster he was glad and almost overwhelmed that he has managed to create such a wonderful discovery. But when he realises what it looks like he feels a completely different way.
At first I think Frankenstein feels in ore and proud because he says ‘I had selected features as beautiful’. This shows us that he feels proud because he has made such a beautiful thing. However after that he feels disappointed and sees what other people see, which is an ugly monster. ‘Horror and disgust filled my heart’. This shows us that he doesn’t want it anymore because it isn’t what he expected.
Frankenstein also feels regretful. ‘Why did I ever start with this cursed thing?’ shows us he thinks twice about his doing. The word ‘cursed’ emphasises his strong emotion about the monster. Also the word ‘thing’ shows us that he doesn’t see it as a human but as an awful monster.
Frankenstein explains how ‘The beauty of the dream vanished’. The word ‘dream’ shows us that the feeling was positive previously, as the word dream is the opposite of nightmare and nightmares are negative. The quotation also shows us that Frankenstein had high expectations for the monster. Also the word ‘vanished’ shows us how quickly the dream disappeared.
I think Frankentstein feels released from the obligation of caring for the monster because of the way he reacts when he sees it. ‘You swear you’ll go and not come back?’ shows us that he wants the monster to leave and doesn’t want it to interfere with his life anymore. It also shows us that he is afraid that the monster won’t keep his promise, so he makes his swear not to come back.
Victor feels vengeance towards the monster because it (the monster) destroyed everything he loves, his servant, his brother, and finally, his wife! It justifies this action by saying that all he ever knew was hate. "How dare you sport thus with life?" this leads to victor to hate the monster. All he can think is
