When it comes to gender and research, gender can affect sociological research in five ways. The five ways gender can affect are the following, Androcentricity, overgeneralzing gender blindness, double standards, and interference. Androcentricity means, "focus on the male" ( Macionis, 2011 P.21). With this type of research, the researchers tend to act as if the activities that men's perform are the only important ones, ignoring what women do. They focus and acknowledge the paid labor men do, but under look the house work and child care women performs. These researches are only studying human behavior from only one side of humanity.
