The geographic features can change the way people live. For example MOST deserts have a hot, dry climate and has a limited supply of a water. However it is found that some desserts have vegetation and water found located throughout the desert so not all deserts are dry with no water. A monsoon is a prevailing wind carrying moisture from the nearby oceans or bodies of water that only come a few times a year. This can come up as an issue because sometimes the water the monsoons carry can flood the streets and cause serious damage. About half of the nation's electricity is generated by hydropower and thus by the monsoons ( doc 6b). When monsoons are late it causes blackouts because all the nation's electric is ran by hydropower.
