Another way that Napoleon demonstrates bad leadership is that he is very cruel. He makes a contract with grocery store to sell 400 eggs a week. He declared that the hens must surrender their eggs in order to pay for grain and meals that would keep the farm going in bad winter conditions. Understandably, the hens were outraged and revolted against Napoleon. He order that their food rations be stopped immediately and anyone who helped them old be executed. Napoleon’s group of protective dogs were used for gruesome executions, in the book it says “The three hens who had been the ringleaders of the attempted rebellion over the eggs now came forward and stated that Snowball appeared to them in a dream and incited them to disobey Napoleon’s orders. They, too, were slaughtered.”(93), Napoleon’s corruption is being more scary and intense. The hens are not given a fair trial or put into custody instead they are murdered while their terrified peers watch. During his reign, Napoleon executes many of the animals that defy his rules.
