Hitler’s audience was the German people. Specifically he targeted the Aryan race. He thought of them as the ideal people for his nation. People were willing to follow him because he seemed to have the right answers in a time of economic disaster. He was able to manipulate a nation by being an amazing speaker. His weapon was his voice; he captured their emotions and made them believe he was fighting for them. He was able to hit them emotionally with his words. He gave the German people a scapegoat to blame. The fact that he was able to hypnotized the Germans into worshipping him and presenting himself as a savior is chilling. He believed by defending himself against the Jews that he was fighting for the work of the lord. Hitler devoted his entire political life aimed at creating a race of people in the pure image of god. He thought of himself as some sort of messiah chosen by god. From his earliest speech Hitler invoked god, a smart political move in the mostly Christian nation. The German economy was in bad shape at the time Hitler rose to power, Germany was a nation in need of a savior and Hitler decided he would be the one to fill that role. Hitler was known to quote many scriptures from his early speeches however, he later referred to it as a fairy tale invented by the Jews. He forced people to worship him as god and brained wash the Germans in a way where they saw him as messianic almost god like figure. In the eyes of the German people Hitler saved them from the humiliations of their defeat in World War I. The people felt as if Adolf Hitler understood their personal needs, and therefore pledged their confidence in him to run the country.
