Othello is so overcome with jealousy that even when Desdemona clearly refutes his accusations of having an affair with Cassio he refuses to believe her. This just proves that jealousy can completely distort what is right and what is wrong in a relationship. Secondly, Othello misunderstands Cassio’s degrading description of Bianca as Desdemona and this misunderstanding causes him to go crazy. Lastly, Iago drove Othello insane with jealousy by convincing him that Cassio is having an affair with Desdemona. “… I can at least make [Othello] so jealous that he can’t thin straight” The one thing that turned Othello so jealous was the lies that Iago told him, Iago used deception very well to negatively influence
