Suddenly she is struck down by a large branch hit by lightning. Recognizing that Mindy is left out in the squall, Kin starts to fret as Mindy does not return home so she runs out looking for her. In the cold, pouring, rain she finds her child unconscious. She immediately runs over believing her dead and starts to comfort and sooth her daughter. It is evident by her reaction and facial expression that immediately thoughts come rushing into her head of all the times she neglected and was rude to Mindy. After she learns that Mindy will survive, Kin makes an effort to be with her daughter and set a good example for her. She spends more time with Mindy talking and playing music on her childhood accordion. Furthermore, Alvin the young man Mindy wants Kin to marry comes into the commercial kitchen Kin is working in. All of sudden a terrible storm erupts causing a large obstacle to break and come crashing down on Alvin but just in the nick of time Kin tackles Alvin saving his life. Lying on top of Alvin she realizes she cannot hold her past anger and bitterness back and the love comes out as she gives him a kiss. When Kin experiences hardships and almost loses everything and everyone she truly loves, she is reminded of how happy yet hard life can be. She is able to put her past bitterness behind her back and start out afresh. She changes her ways and acts in more compassion towards her daughter Mindy by spending more time with her and by setting a better example. She also returns her love for Alvin by accepting him and letting her true
