How Does Lennie And George Present The Meaning Of Friendship

In the novel “Of Mice and Men,” Steinbeck portrays friendship as one’s essential need in life, and how true friends will be willing to go the extra mile for each other no matter what the consequence will end up being. On the other hand, it can become quite difficult to face the obstacles in life without having someone to experience it with. In the novel, Lennie and George portray the true meaning of friendship. For example, at the end of the novel, George decides to shoot Lennie himself instead of letting Lennie to be tortured by the evil hands of the ranchmen. That was a quite difficult decision to make, but George did it for the best of Lennie.
