He finally got to the dead body and could not believe what he saw, “The Sniper fights an intense battle that goes on until he makes a heart stopping discovery on who’s he fighting. In “The Sniper” by Liam O’Flaherty he uses situational irony to add suspense and leaves readers wanting more from the author. Throughout the entire story of “The Sniper” many different parts make you want to read more, thus keeping you interested for the entire story. For example “He stopped to pick his rifle up. He couldn’t lift it. His forearm was dead… He muttered, “I’m hit.”” Because he was shot you are left wondering whats going to happen next. Is he going to survive? Can he still fight?
