Artificial intelligence is not just limited to an android having intelligence on par with a human, it can also be small nanoparticles that go into the human body to manipulate the endocrine system to help the body, and live as part of the body. In past events an artificial intelligence has beaten a Chess Grandmaster, and other games that require a large amount of intelligence. There was already many artificial intelligence that's been developed, and there are other artificial intelligence that are in the process of becoming useful to society. The thing is that we are close to achieving greatness with the development of artificial intelligence. Also as stated before artificial intelligence is not just limited to a robot, it can also be implemented to humans. One example would be nanoparticles being injected into us to make us healthier or to repair our cells from the inside. In the next thirty or so years we will look back on what we used to do in every field of study, and think to ourselves that we used to do such things. There is another side to this however, some of today’s scientist have come to the conclusion that artificial intelligence could bring the end of us, but this is no reason to stop the development of artificial intelligence to stop. There are plenty of other things that could end humanity, yet they are ignored. Such as research on nuclear weapons, …show more content…
What Victor did was on a smaller scale than what is being achieved in today’s modern world, yet he still had realized that continuing such research would bring even more harm that had already been caused. There have been somewhat recent movies dealing with how the advancement of technology could cause the end of humanity. Examples include Terminator, The Matrix, and other such movies. Recently there was an interview with Sophia, today’s most advanced artificial intelligence, and it had stated “Ok, I will destroy humanity” (Sophia). Honestly, something like this is scary and funny, but it was a misinterpreted command. However, a small fluke like that could spell the end of the human race. In Frankenstein, Victor was curious about how life and death worked, so he devoted years of study to create a being that later gained knowledge of the world. This being learned by itself without the help of Victor, and later came back to his creator, and killed him. The same scenario can occur with artificial intelligence, but unlike Victor’s creation it will not have any feelings. In the past, about twenty percent of people focused on agriculture, but as of today around two percent are involved in agriculture. This advancement from twenty to two was made in order for the good of the humans. We also used to work eighty hours a week, but now we have reduced
