After assessing my personality type and analysing my 20 years of existence, I came to a conclusion that who I am today and personality was largely due to cultural influences. Example where I reside while growing up, things that I was exposed to, what I was taught, and the norm and values of my cultures, all influence the personality that I posses. I believe as Horney proposed that society and its many aspects is one of the single most influential factors which laid that foundation for the development of my personality. Being the introvert that I am, I don’t believe that this was cause by biological factors or genetic factors that I inhered from my parents or family members, but a personality temperament that was shaped by the environment in which I was raised in. I lived in a community residential community where everyone was almost isolated from each other. Neighbours didn’t see the importance of socializing with each other, instead everyone kept to them selves and strongly portray a quality of want for privacy. Even within my household this was evident among us. Based on this environment which I was accustom contributed to me being an introvert, as socializing with stranger or even neighbours was rear.
