How Does Soccer Affect My Life
Ever since kicking my first soccer ball during Kinder Kicks, soccer has become a fundamental aspect of my life. Not only have I been playing the sport since then, but the sport has also influenced me beyond solely playing it. It is the culture surrounding the game as well. It is waking up early every Saturday morning to watch the Liverpool game, or getting ready to cheer on the New England Revolution in Gillette Stadium in the evenings. Soccer has been embedded everywhere in my life, from the posters on my bedroom walls to the jerseys that continue to accumulate on my closet floor. This passion has driven me to share the sport with as many as I can. With the Natick Soccer Organization, I have been organizing tournaments for U10 and U14 boys

All which persisted over the course of my extensive soccer career.…

Soccer is rapidly becoming more popular in high schools. Some people believe that soccer will surpass football as the main sport in most schools within a few years. There are a few reasons backing the sport’s rapid growth. Some of the increase can be attributed to the noticeable growth of certain ethnic populations in which soccer is the primary athletic activity and spectator sport. Schools see the higher interest and add soccer to their roster of sports. This in turns leads more kids to playing, and even more spectators and then leading them getting further involved with the sport. Now, more than ever before a huge percentage of students from all different age groups and all different demographic backgrounds are playing youth soccer. A generation raised on soccer will most certainly aid in the popularity of soccer in the US. Schools also see it as a source of additional revenue from the sponsorships to the cost of admission to events. Speaking on the subject of money, soccer is also an inexpensive sport to play. More and more Americans are facing financial struggle and playing soccer is simply more economical than just about any other sport. The lower cost of equipment reduces the overall cost of playing soccer recreationally and competitively. Football, for example is an extremely expensive sport and many are finding that the cost is not worth the benefit. This is true at many small colleges and universities who have chosen not to have football teams due to the tremendous cost. In its place, soccer has the opportunity to become the most popular sport in many communities. The equipment is considerably cheaper to that of football’s…

Anger, sadness, disappointment, despair, and frustration are just a few examples of feelings you can experience while playing soccer. On the contrary, you can feel excitement, pride, joy, unity, and so much more. Not only can you experience these feelings while playing soccer, you can also experience them during your everyday life. Loukas Angelo once expressed that “[Soccer] is a metaphor for life. [Soccer] is unfair, inconsistent, subjective, and fast-paced. And life itself could be described exactly the same way…”. Though soccer and life can have terrible moments, we should be thankful for those moments. We should cherish our hardships, because it makes success just that much sweeter. While observing a soccer game, I was able to witness an emotional roller coaster. When one team scored, the scoring team was filled with glee, but their opposition was filled with despair. Then when the opposition scored, the feelings reversed each other. As the game wore on, both teams were determined to score, so they could bring home the win. They battled until the end, until the opposition scored. The other team was left heartbroken; they poured in so much handwork and energy, but got very little out. As both teams walked off the field, they went over to one another to shake hands. The coaches rounded up the players to offer their takes on the game. As the players walked off with their parents, you could hear the winning team filled with joy and laugher; the opposing team, however, was filled with tears and disappointment. How could…

Soccer is a significant positive way to globalize nations. There are negative impacts of globalization such as the effects of the rural exodus and a growing gap between those who have the wealth to benefit from technology and those who do not. In this essay I will argue that soccer is one of the ways in which positive globalization can happen. To do so, I will discuss the history of soccer and its spread around the world before going on to look at the reason why soccer has succeeded in becoming popular in so many countries and created a global market while other sports, such as baseball, have not. Finally I will state that soccer is a big factor in the business scene influencing globalization.…

The person that people admire is the most important person in their life. For me, the most important person that made a change and I admire is my father. He has been by my side ever since I was born. Ever since I was 3yrs old. My eyes always focused on him because he was special to me. It was either because he played soccer and was amazing at it or was it because he took care of me taught me what was good and what was bad. Either ways my father is the most amazing dad that the lord had given me. I don’t know what I would do if he was gone. Just thinking about it makes my eyes water so much that I could fill up a dried up lake. As I was growing up, since my dad liked soccer. My favorite sport was of course soccer. I have been watching him play soccer till he had retired with about 11 championships trophy. He didn’t really play in a professional team but I know that the team he had was really good. They played like pros because they had never lost games! So as I was growing up I’ve been thinking of joining a soccer team. I was 10 years old and I didn’t have to ask my dad if I can join because by the time I wanted to ask him. He came to me first and told me “son, I think is time for you to play in a soccer team.…
