Before ,when George and Lennie worked in a small town called Weed Lennie liked petting this lady’s dress because it was soft. One day Lennie wanted to touch the girl's dress but she took it as something more sinister than that. Once Lennie was petting the dress he didn't wanna let go and the girl was trying to run away to safety because she was afraid. The point when the girl got away she went back to the farm and told the other workers that Lennie tried to sexually assault her. Later on in the book theirs a part where Curley's wife and him are in the barn and she let Lennie pet her hair. Curly’s wife told Lennie to stop but he didn’t and just continue. She started to get up and Lennie didn’t want her to leave just yet so she also started screaming for help and kicking her way out but Lennie was obviously stronger. Since Lennie doesn’t know his own strength he ends up killing Curley's
