How Does Temperature Affect The Resistance Of Pencils
According to the data, type B pencil had the highest resistance and type 11B pencil had the lowest resistance. B type pencils are darker than H type pencils. For B type pencils, the pencils get softer as its number increases. For example, a 6B pencil is softer than a 4B pencil. It was evident from the data that softer pencils have a lower resistance. For instance, the average resistance for a one centimeter line for a B type pencil was 0.275 MΩ, but for a 11B type pencil the average resistance decreased to 0.084 MΩ. In addition, it was noted from the data that as the length of the line increased, the resistance increased. For example, the average resistance of a 2B type pencil at 0.2 centimeters was 0.0295 MΩ, but it increased to 0.192 MΩ at

Have you ever wondered whether a candle burns more quickly on a hot day, than on a cold day? Or is it the other way around? This science fair project was carried out to compare how quickly a candle will burn at different room temperatures. The experiment was done by measuring how much of a candle will melt in 30 minutes when placed in an environment with surrounding temperatures of 20°C, 25°C and 30°C.…

On the lines drawn we put four circles filled with water soluble ink. When the ink dried, we put a second drop of ink in each circle. We then put the filter paper in a 400 mL beaker filled with ¼ inch if distilled water. (The filter paper was folded length wise.) The beaker was then covered with plastic paper wrap and we watched the dots spread to the top of the paper as it absorbed the water. We then took the paper out quickly and measured the distance the ink traveled. We then repeated these steps with the acetone soluble ink except ¼ inch of acetone instead of distilled…

5(a) indicates that there is a critical eccentricity associated with each slenderness ratio. Critical eccentricity points are shown with colourless markers. Critical eccentricity is the eccentricity limit within which there is no much reduction in the ultimate capacity of specimen. The approximate values of critical eccentricities for specimens S500 and S800 are 0.3xo and 0.75xo. For S1100 specimens no critical eccentricity was identified as the effect of eccentricity diminishes at higher eccentricities. There is no such critical eccentricity seen in the case of specimens subjected to minor axis bending. The above findings have also been reported by Liu and Hui [7] based on their experimental work.…

Their impact on the cultural and social life of India was, however, gradual. Till 1813, they followed a policy of non-interference in the social and cultural life of the Indians. Yet, changes were taking place in these fields (the social life of Indians). These changes related to education, the condition of women, the caste system and various social practices.…
