The atmosphere of Uranus has gases that make the planet impossible for life to live on. Since the atmosphere is composed of hydrogen, helium, and methane there is a minimal amount of oxygen on Uranus. Therefore, any organism could not survive, as every living thing needs oxygen. Since the planet is completely made of gas, the planet is considered a gas giant. Due …show more content…
Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun, which is different to Earth, as Earth is the 4rth planet to the sun. As a result, Uranus is much colder than Earth, as the average temperature of Uranus is -357° Fahrenheit. This is one of the reasons in which no life form can live on Uranus. The temperature is about 300° colder than what the average person can survive on Earth. Another reason in which Uranus does not support life is due to Uranus’s weather patterns. The atmosphere is very windy, also with the cold temperature, we would die in an instant.
Since Uranus is 2.6 billion kilometers away from Earth the time on Uranus is very different. A day on Earth is 7 hours longer than a day on Uranus as Uranus has a day that lasts 17 hours. The days on Uranus may be shorter, but 1 year on Uranus is 84 years on Earth. This results in there being 21,717.5 Earth days in one year on Uranus. The time on Uranus is different to Earth’s time due to Uranus’ distance from the sun. Uranus has a very peculiar way of spinning. Uranus actually spins on its side. Uranus is the only planet that does not spin horizontally, its spins vertically. Some believe that this is due to how Uranus was impacted on the side causing Uranus to spin vertically. Ever since the impact Uranus has spun at a 90 degree angle. Uranus’s rotation spins counterclockwise, which can be defined as spinning in a retrograde
