Many times people may not know the other people in the group, and may not have a good understanding of their goals. Often when placed in a group we are not sure what everyone’s role is or what to say to whom. Many people do not work well in groups or do not want to work in groups with other people. Some group members may feel that they have a heavier work load than other members. This is why many people resist group projects.…

An extra value of homework is that students get to become independent because it motivates accept the responsibility to do their jobs properly and accurately, without necessarily having a person next to they. Being an introvert also allows me to use my vivid imagination. This can be helpful when writing papers and doing projects. “Students are expected to work in groups in traditional classrooms and the ones that prefer to work alone are considered outliners or a problem, (Cain, 2012). As an online student my introvert trait will allow me to focus on my studies because I can work alone in my comfort…

Contrary to my smarter measure assessment of being social learner, learning strategies that are somewhat solitary such as recite, rehearse and write work well for my learning style. I’ve learned that when I write something down more than once I tend to remember it better verses listening or learning in a group where I tend not to take in the information as well. Frankly I disagree with the assessment and think when it comes to my learning it may be off. However in everyday life I am a very social person.…

Being forced into isolation is a deep dislike by majority of the human race. Many may associate isolation with a punishment or consequence, but it can ultimately serve a greater purpose. Sometimes being surrounded by too many people can plant seeds that will eventually bear problems, issues, and overall negativity. With that being said, it is always refreshing to have time set aside in order to meditate and recuperate. There are plenty of negative factors in isolation, as well as positive. For instance, studying and expecting the outcome to be successful will most likely occur when one is alone and able to focus, whereas one who attempts to focus while viewing a television or listening to music cannot and should not expect positive results. It is easy to predict how one will react while isolated until the situation becomes a personal reality. If I was stranded on an island, figuratively…

    Teams in the 21st Century

I work in a team every day at work. Our jobs consist of teams, teamwork, and communication. I could not perform my job without working as a team. I also worked in a small group in my last class. Our assignment was shortened because we split the work among each other and that made the job easier. I had a great experience working with my learning team because we communicated with each other, made sure everyone understood their part, and came together at the end and collaborated and put everyone’s opinion together. The outcome was great. I learned a great deal from my group. I learned that it’s ok to work with other people, listen to their theories, and depend on the integrity of their work. I was surprised at how differently each person view the same situation.…

When I work alone, I rely on myself to keep track of all parts of the task I’m working on, which can at times prove stressful. However, working with my group on this project meant that I wasn’t required to take care of everything, and that I could depend on the other members to complete their parts of the project, which brought a little peace to my mind and allowed me to work somewhat more effectively as I researched and wrote the paper. My group members also influenced me in that they offered different approaches to research and were able to show me methods and interpretations that I myself had not thought of. These different perspectives brought together allowed me to become more efficient and successful at using resources and thinking through problems I encountered during the project. Also, during the writing process, my group members gave me their opinions and input regarding my work, and in some cases they pointed out mistakes and inconsistencies which I had not recognized in my own work. This not only improved my writing and the paper overall, it allowed me to recognize those mistakes in the future and become a stronger writer and better member of the group. Overall, working with my group for this project proved beneficial in creating better conditions for research and writing, as our unique standpoints brought together shaped the paper and the project…
