How Exercise Affects The Body
Exercise impacts the work that your body and cells do by having your systems work harder to produce more energy faster. It also helps to pump blood more quickly so that oxygen and glucose reach mitochondria faster. It works to increase heart rate and produce/exert carbon dioxide faster. Before exercise, the bromothymol took an average of 8.1 seconds to change its color. During exercise, however, we start to notice a gradual change. With an average of 6.2 seconds, it took the BTB 1.9 seconds less to change color. After 10 minutes of exercise, it took the BTB an average of only 5.9 seconds to change color. The amount of time had a total decrease of 2.2 seconds. This shows that it took less time and the lungs were producing more oxygen/carbon

An acute response of the musculoskeletal system during exercise includes an increase in blood supply. The short term effects on your muscles increases the temperature therefore there is more activation energy so chemical reactions are used by the musculoskeletal system and the metabolic activity increases. As the oxygen demand increases, more oxygenated blood needs to be supplied to the muscles so vasodilatation occurs so more blood can pass through the arteries. This affected me during the bleep test because vasodilation allows more oxygenated blood to travel to the actively respiring muscle tissues.…

You may list, as students report out, the physiological changes to the respiratory, cardiovascular, neuromuscular, and urinary systems expected during strenuous exercise and as noted in the case of the cyclist, Joe. Students will respond with answers suggesting increases in heart rate, respiration, sweating and muscle fatigue, as well as muscle soreness as normal. However, in reality, in an effort to sustain maximum energy output over extended periods of time, endurance athletes train so that organ systems make the necessary physiological adaptations and are not subject to radical changes in function. Metabolic changes can occur with extensive endurance training in the muscles, hearts and lungs of the athlete, increasing efficiency of system utilization (Thompson, 2000).…

The lungs have a huge blood supply and a huge surface area so they are very effective at getting oxygen out of the air. They are also in charge of getting rid of the carbon dioxide excess and some of the excess water as water vapour. It is the lungs job to get the oxygen and the heart has to pump it around the rest of the body. Energy metabolism; when people are exercising their muscles are contracting and they are using more energy so they will need more oxygen getting to the muscles and my heart will beat fast which will send the oxygen faster to my muscles.…

This assignment will consist of guidelines to interpret collected data for heart rate, breathing rate and temperature before and after a standard period of exercise. In order to complete this exercise we had to work with another individual and take turns to accurately record the blood pressure, pulse and respiration and temperature results before and after undertaking the exercise. (Stretch, B., & Whitehouse, M. (2007). We chose to do the Harvard step which consisted of a workout for fifteen minutes; we then completed the measure and repeated it again 3 times to ensure we had got reliable results.…

Your body is always trying to maintain a state of balance known as homeostasis. When you exercise, you generate a wide range of effects on the systems of your body. It strives to help create enough energy to continue exercising as well as help the body recover afterwards. This state of energy creation and use has many effects on your body’s homeostasis including increased breathing, heart rate, and sweat rate and a change in external body temperature and skin color on the arms and face. In this lab, 1 member of each group shall be the subject who will exercise for 8 minutes by walk up and down a flight of stairs. The subject’s breathing…

The subject’s heart rate shows a steady heart rate of 68 at rest, however after one minute of exercise it has increased by 8 beats per minute. This shows that the pulse rate and flow of blood has increased around the body during the first minute of exercise because the body is pumping blood around the body faster. After 2 and 3 minutes of exercise the heart rate becomes steadier as there is an equal amount of an increase of 4 beats per minute between them. This shows that the body has adjusted to the rate of exercise.…

The results of the experiment supported the hypothesis. Possible experimental errors included subjects lied about how much they exercised, subjects did not inhale and exhale fully, and the numbers were read incorrectly on the spirometer. For future research, subjects should be monitored for how much they exercise, newer devices should be used, and the subjects should be watched to see if they fully inhaled and exhaled. In conclusion, the experiment showed exercising for a minimum of thirty minutes a day for at least four days a week increased vital capacity in…
